ERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Thank you for choosing us. Please read the following very carefully:

The system of services and products may sometimes be different from those in your own country.

We strongly suggest you read the following very carefully:

About the costs: Our costs are expressed in American dollars and you have voluntarily accepted and agreed the price to pay before making the reservation.  Avoiding any setbacks for later claims.

TRAVEL IN PERU: InfoCusco operates in regions of standard accommodation, where transportation and services might NOT be what you normally expect.
Although we take great care and diligence in providing our tourists with the best service, traveling to Peru requires flexibility, patience, a mind open to our culture, a good attitude and comprehension towards the changes that might be made without prior notice due to circumstances beyond our control (Force Majeure – see below). When booking any of the trips offered, you must agree tothe changes InfoCusco may make without being liable for the following circumstances:

FORCE MAJEURE: This is any event that for InfoCusco is inevitable despite having made use of all the ways possible to resolve it. This includes events such as wars or war threats, revolts, diseases, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, fires or similar events that are out of our control.

In this case InfoCusco will not be liable for such events and reserves the right to modify, postpone or even cancel the tourist’s travel (this being the last option of course).

In case of strikes, protests, stoppage, etc, we may have to advance our departure one day or complete the journey in less days, modifying the itinerary (normally of 3 days). You accept and agree, at no extra cost and/or disbursement on our part.

Note: In the case of the classic Inca Trail, once booked it may not be changed in any way since it is controlled by the INC (Peruvian Government Institution) that does not allow any modifications after it has been booked.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Before starting your trip we strongly recommend you to purchase travel insurance covering accidents, medical expenses and emergency repatriation, including aerial rescue or aerial ambulance. 

We also recommend it covers cancellations and lost baggage.  Please send us a scanned copy of your insurance policy to our email or give a copy to a trusted family member or friend.

RISKS: On booking any of our adventure tours (Inca Trail, Salcantay, Ausangate, Choquekirao, Inca jungle, Lares, etc) you acknowledge the risks this involves for which you fully assume these risks on doing these trips. InfoCusco does not accept any liability regarding events that may occur during the journey due to tourist negligence or events escaping our control.

RESPONSIBILITY: InfoCusco declares it assumes no liability or obligation for accidents, damages, diseases, death, delays, injuries to other persons or property. Neither does it assume responsibility for causes of force majeure, strikes, weather conditions, earthquakes, political situations, etc, that may determine cancellations, changes, delays, etc. Any expenses produced by these situations must be payed by the customer. Similarly, the company is not liable for lost baggage, thefts or damages, considering that these belongings go in a place known and accepted by the customers and under their own responsibility. InfoCusco reserves the right to cancel or modify the itinerary schedule when considering it is for the best development of services. The passengers are responsible for having the appropriate documentation, passports, visas, TRAVEL INSURANCE, vaccines, vouchers, etc. InfoCusco is not liable for any delays or expenses due to inappropriate documentation or lack of travel documents.

About Risks and Responsibility: We need you to sign and leave your digital fingerprint on our risk and liability sheet, either at our offices or meeting place, before the start of any of our tours and you hereby accept and agree to this.

When sending your personal data for the reservation, your passport or ID card number must be valid. Please take into account that the Inca Trail authorities are very strict on verifying passports numbers at the 82 Km entrance control to the Inca Trail).
The ISIC card (if applicable) must also be valid and must be presented on entering the Inca trail along with the document with which the reservation was made (original documents).

MAKING A RESERVATION (DEPOSIT): 

To confirm your reservation you are required to pay pre-payment of the total tour cost, the remainder will be payed once you are in Cuzco.

To qualify for the student discount, you must send us a valid ISIC; it is important that you send us a scanned copy at the time of making the reservation.

Shipping costs must be covered by the customer and are not included in our tour costs.

One or two nights before your trip, there will be a preliminary briefing at our offices or your hotel at approximately 6 or 7 pm (the exact time will be confirmed).

Payment of final balance: We require you to complete the remaining payment in our offices or at your hotel when we meet, which is to be made before you start your tour and in cash (in American dollars or national currency).  We reserve the RIGHT to cancel your travel if you do not effect payment within the established term.

Return to Cuzco: The return ticket offered is by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo in BACKPACKER class with bus transfer from Ollantaytambo to Cuzco.

Returning on 5th day: If you want to stay at Aguas calientes an extra night we offer the option of purchasing your train ticket for the 5th day but the costs involved in the stay are at the customer’s expense (new entrance ticket to Machu Picchu, buses up and down, bus from Ollantaytambo to Cuzco, meals, accommodation, etc.).

Train Tickets: Since the Perurail Company disposes and manages the train schedules we are subject to such modality. Perurail will issue the return tickets for us in the following (approximate) schedules:

18:45PM

21:30 PM

We have no control on the schedules for which you accept and agree to the schedule of the return ticket issued.

Should you want to change the schedule of the train ticket and if there is a chance to do so either in the same train class or in another category, the customer agrees to assume all the extra charges involved. 

CANCELLATIONS:

(1)  Deposits sent for reservations are NON-refundable and non-assignable.

(2) InfoCusco must be notified of any changes or cancellations in your travel as soon as possible and you must confirm these by sending notification via e-mail.

(3) Once the FINAL balance has been paid, payment will NOT be returned for cancellations; however, we may be able to give you some tickets (entrance right to Machu Picchu, 1 train ticket, 1 bus ticket). In case you have paid only a pre-payment, unfortunately no refund will be made.

(4) A letter of claim for your insurance company may also be provided prior request to us.

VERY IMPORTANT: We strongly suggest that you stay at high altitude (above 3000 meters, in Cuzco or another high-altitude city), during 3 or 4 days (minimum) before starting your journey. This has the purpose of reducing the possibility of altitude sickness. You can also help your body acclimatize by drinking lots of fluids, adding a little sugar to your drinks, eating foods rich in carbohydrates, avoiding cigarettes and alcohol and drinking coca (ancient traditional leaf) tea.
Diamox may also be useful, please ask your doctor for a prescription.

On confirming your reservation you have expressed you fully agree to our terms and conditions.
